New Year, Different Stuff
Okay, a while back I promised that I would be blogging more regularly and I have followed through. I wish I could explain myself, but it would just sound like excuses. It hasn't been because of bad stuff, just mainly a lack of motivation and time. Work has been keeping me busy up through Christmas and then the last few days have been with family.
My baby brother, Brandon now 26 and wife Lorye, was just dropped off at LAX by Kristina and I about an hour ago. Their trip was short, but good. It was hard for me to express to them how much it meant for them to come visit. I don't mean to keep writing about depressing stuff, but because we lost our mom not long ago and Kristina and I lost our baby, I get more emotional than normal. So, I cried for most of the way home. It's quite a sight, this 32-year-old, fat, white boy from Indiana driving North on the 405 sobbing and being consoled by his wife.
Anyway, back to Brandon. He has made such a turn-around with his life the last couple of years...and I'm so proud of him. Basically with going into too many details, Brandon got involved with a bad crowd and wound up doing a year in Prison. He is now very successful at his job and is being promoted very soon. Lorye has come a long way, too. She has had a pretty hard time and has family...that isn't worth being around...so we are her family. They have had the baby problems, too. Anyway, it is cool to seem them develop into adults.
Since the weather sucked while they were here, we are trying to get them back out here in the summer. I think they will have more fun when it is warmer and they can use the pool, etc.
Wrapping this up...I'm gonna try to stay on task here and actually do some posts over the next couple days. Lots to write about from their visit and maybe some pictures to post as well.
I hope your New Year goes as well as mine is starting out to be.

Good luck to your brother. Climbing out is a lot more difficult than just avoiding falling in.
And all the best to Lorye too.
Please let them know that a total stranger nearly twice their age on the other side of the Pacific wishes them well.
Regards to you too.
